A lovely 19th century French passoire en terre cuite or colander, circa 1890s, handmade of terracotta in Perpignan, known as the capital of French Catalonia, near the foothills of the Pyrénées. This charming utilitarian bowl, used for washing and draining fruits, berries, and vegetables, features a bright yellow and green swirled interior glaze and lip with brown drippings on the outside. A wonderful addition to any pottery collection.
