Large Painted Swedish Gustavian Style Demilune Enfilade Buffet
A large six-door demilune enfilade buffet custom made of old wood by talented artisans in the Umbrian region of Italy. These master craftsmen specialize in the ancient techniques that have been passed down for centuries from one generation to another. Handcrafted in the Swedish Gustavian style and hand-painted a beautiful chalky white color with gray tones that were typical of the Scandinavian taste for soft palettes aimed to brighten homes during the long, dark winters in Sweden. The carved demilune shaped plank top sits above three fluted columns that provide the framework for the front four moulded panel doors and the two rounded corner cabinet doors, all adorned with raised, reeded lozenges. The doors open to reveal a single shelf offering a convenient storage area. Raised on short tapered feet. With its clean Gustavian lines and understated decor, this painted buffet will bring a touch of subtle elegance to any room, whether placed in a dining room, living room, or foyer. A smaller four-door size buffet is also available.
