19th Century Spanish Terracotta Tinaja or Wine Pot
A 19th century Spanish terracotta tinaja jar or wine pot with circular striations handmade in the Aragon region in northeast Spain, circa 1890s. Originally used to store wine, tinaja jars typically have a narrow mouth and foot, no handles, and a wide belly to host the wine, with a tap at the bottom. This tinaja jar would be great for a home wine cellar or use it in the garden, by the pool, or indoors as a decorative planter or large floor vase. A wonderful addition to any pottery collection.
