Large Antique 19th Century Spanish Semi-Glazed Terracotta Olive Jar with Green Drips
An outstanding large antique 19th century Spanish olive jar handmade in the province of Girona in the Catalan region, circa 1880s. This light colored semi-glazed jar with three raised bands features a beautiful dark green glaze around the neck and rim with green drips. The areas where the glaze has dripped onto the body of the vessel adds to the unique patina that has developed after over a century of use and weather. Used to preserve olive oil, this antique earthenware preserving pot will bring a Mediterranean flavor to a garden or terrace or use as a decorative planter or jardiniere indoors. A wonderful addition to any pottery collection.
