An early 19th century French Louis XVI style carved commode handcrafted of solid oak by talented artisans near Aix-en-Provence in the Provence region of southern France, circa 1810. This exquisite bleached wood commode features a rectangular plank top sitting above three deep drawers with delicate low relief carvings of floral garlands surrounding the original brass ring pulls and escutcheons. Raised on four short tapered and fluted legs ending in wood sabots. The most popular of the Louis styles today, this antique French Louis XVI Provençal chest of drawers with its clean lines, delicate carvings, and bleached finish, will complement both traditional and modern interiors and bring an elegant presence to any home, whether placed in a bedroom, foyer, or living room.
