Late 19th Century French Louis Philippe Style Painted Four-Drawer Commode
A late 19th century French Louis Philippe style painted four-drawer commode from the South of France near Avignon, circa 1890s. This handsome French chest of drawers with new paint features a rectangular plank top with rounded corners in the front sitting atop a secret doucine drawer with three full drawers below having circular brass pulls. The whole rests on shaped pistolet feet. This handsome commode is a beautiful French blue color with a weathered patina. The strong, bold lines and subtle curves of Louis Philippe pieces mix well with other styles making them an easy fit in an existing home. A perfect commode for use in a beach house, farm house, boy's bedroom, or nursery. The scale of the drawers ensures an ample amount of storage wherever this versatile chest is placed.
