19th Century French Table de Vigneron or Wine Tasting Tilt-Top Table
19th century French table de vigneron or wine tasting table handcrafted of oak near Vendee, having a round four plank tilt-top surface with a beautiful aged patina over a wedge trestle base and rotating lyre shape stretcher, circa 1890s. These type of French tables were originally used daily in the vineyards for the workers to have lunch and if someone happened to stop by they would be offered a glass of wine. The wineries also used them each year as connoisseurs tasted the new vintage. When not in use, this handsome vintner's table would have been folded and stored in the barn. Would work great in a wine cellar, as a small breakfast or kitchen table, or a side table next to your sofa or favorite chair. As a space saving option, the table can be stored up against the wall with the top vertical.
