Small Antique French Pale Yellow Ware Preserving Jar
A small antique 19th century French pale yellow ware preserving jar from the Alpine region of Haute-Savoie in southeast France, having a beautiful pale yellow glaze inside and out with just the base left unglazed, circa 1850s. These traditional preserving jars were used in French kitchens for food storage of jams and conserves, and a fabric cover was fastened over the lip. A wonderful addition to any collection, these classic French pots are great for serving mustard, jams, olives, or other condiments on a charcuterie board. Use them as utensil holders, to hold flowers or herbs, or simply group them together for display on a shelf or counter in your kitchen to add a touch of French Country charm to your home.
