Lovely pair of 19th century French Louis XIII style os de mouton armchairs, circa 1880s. Handcrafted of sold walnut in Lyon, these oversized fireside armchairs have beautifully carved walnut frames with tall rectangular backs and gently scrolling arms. Supported on os de mouton or sheep bone legs with stretcher. Upholstered in a velvet fabric with nailhead trim, these large and comfortable armchairs are very sturdy and suitable for everyday use. They will make an elegant addition to the dining room, the living room or library for winter reading by the fireplace, or in the master suite as a spot for morning coffee or afternoon tea. Perfect for the husband wanting a roomy chair.
