18th century French Provincial Louis XV period buffet handcrafted of solid cherry with burled walnut inlay by talented Breton artisans, circa 1750s, having a rectangular top sitting above two drawers flanking a central ebonized, inlaid 6-point star. Paneled and moulded doors with a center reeded stile open to reveal a single shelf. The carved, shaped apron features a center burled walnut lozenge or elongated diamond motif. Raised on short cabriole legs with scrolled toes.The narrow depth of this versatile piece makes it perfect for a foyer, hallway, dining room, or as a media cabinet.This lovely 18th century buffet has its original hand-forged iron locks and keys with beautiful, artisan made escutcheons, and boasts an exceptional patina that comes only with two centuries of age.
