Morin was born into a middle-class family in Valencia, Venezuela, and came to the United States in 1972. He was naturalized as an American citizen in 2001. Morin's interest in art stems from early childhood, where at the age of seven, he studied at the Escuela de Bellas ArtesArturo Michelena in his hometown of Valencia. In his teens, Morin trained at a private atelier for a couple of years with the Hungarian painter Lazlo Lenyel. He received his B.F.A. from the State University of New York at Buffalo and his M.F.A. at Yale University. His work has been exhibited at multiple institutions including the Museum of Contemporary African Diasporan Arts in Brooklyn, the Bronx Museum of the Arts; the Albright-Knox Art Gallery in Buffalo, New York; and many others.
