Mid-19th Century French Louis Philippe Period Walnut Buffet from Brittany
A handsome 19th century French Louis Philippe period buffet handcrafted of solid walnut near Vannes, a walled town in the Brittany region of northwest France that's characterized by narrow cobbled streets and medieval gates, circa 1850s, having a rectangular plank top above two drawers with original iron handles and escutcheons over two panel doors that open to reveal a single shelf and ample storage. Raised on straight block feet. This antique French buffet has a rich, lustrous color and sheen, resulting from years of waxing and polishing, and features a stately, tailored architecture that is typical of the style. An ideal piece for modern or traditional decor, it's narrow depth makes it perfect for use in a dining room, foyer, hallway, or as a media cabinet.
