COFFEE TABLES
The idea of a coffee table came from the need to put down hot beverages between sips. Originally tall and called "tea tables," it's thought that the name was changed to coffee table because coffee became more popular than tea once coffee houses began to open, but it wasn’t until 1938 that a coffee table was defined as a “low wide table used before a sofa or couch.” Today, coffee tables or cocktail tables still share the same location in front of the sofa. Low, usually long and often wide, antique coffee tables make the perfect spot to sit hot or cold beverages as well as a coffee or tea service while providing a decorative accent and a place to prop up your feet. Lolo French Antiques et More has a wide selection of antique and mid-century coffee tables ranging from rustic to retro. Let us help you find one today!
