A monumental 18th century French chateau trestle table, having a 3" thick rectangular framed solid oak parquet top with three fruitwood and ebonized inlaid 8-point stars and decorative hand-forged iron straps on each corner. Raised on a walnut base with each end having two shaped baluster supports with acanthus leaf carvings and a carved center panel featuring a bas relief cartouche, all resting on a plinth base. Joined by a trestle with four additional carved, shaped baluster supports.
This exceptional 18th century table from the Normandie region was designed for a grand room and seats 12-14 very comfortably. Suitable as a dining table or conference table.
