Lovely Louis XV period buffet from the Lyon region of France. Circa mid-1700s. Hand crafted of solid walnut with a carved frieze above two doors featuring raised and recessed panels with timeless Louis XV inspired motifs. Center panel with florets and scrolling foliage. Intricately carved, shaped apron on four escargot feet. Side ornamentation includes scrolls, florets and foliage. The specific term used to describe this piece is a bas d'armoire (low armoire) because there are no drawers above the doors.
