Charming Country French Louis XV style ladies tambour roll top desk or bureau à cylindre of walnut and marquetry with carved floral and foliate backsplash and three upper drawers. Circa 1890s. Interior with two shelves and storage room, the writing surface is marquetry. Below are two drawers above a carved, shaped apron, raised on graceful cabriole legs carved at the knee with flowers and foliage ending in scrolled French toes on pegs. A fine showcase of craftsmanship, fully finished on all sides, with a wonderful patina.
