Antique French monastery trestle table handcrafted of burled chestnut near Mont Saint-Michel, an island commune in Normandy, during the 1880s. The 2.5 inch thick rectangular board top rests on carved trestle legs connected by a horizontal stretcher. The table retains its beautiful rich, original color and patina developed over the ages in a French monastery. It exudes a rustic elegance, making it suitable as a dining or conference table. Thick and sturdy timbers able to withstand daily use by a busy family. At ten feet long, it will seat 10 to 12 comfortably.
