A charming 19th century vaisselier in oak from the Brittany region of France. Circa 1860s. Upper cupboard has three shelves with sculpted shelf fronts. Lower buffet features four center drawers between two doors above sculpted apron. Resting on short raised cabriole legs ending in scrolled French toes on pegs. This French Country vaisselier will add charm to any kitchen or living area.
The French term vaisselier refers to a piece of furniture for storing and displaying china. It comes from the French word "vaisselle" meaning dishes. Traditional Country French vaisseliers consist of a two door buffet, occasionally with drawers, with a shelved cupboard that rests on top. Dimensions:
