Antique French Provincial Louis XV period buffet handcrafted by talented Breton artisans of solid cherrywood with walnut oyster veneering and marquetry, having a rectangular top with canted front corners sitting above three drawers (one with a secret compartment) and two paneled doors featuring a central fougère (fern) pattern. The front having a centered inlaid walnut diamond motif flanked by the carved and paneled doors above a shaped apron with an inlaid walnut cloche motif with oyster veneering. The interior with a centered shelf, raised on cabriole legs. This lovely 18th century buffet has its original hand-forged iron locks and keys with beautiful, artisan made escutcheons and pulls featuring fleur de lis motifs and boasts an exceptional patina that comes only with two centuries of age.
