Lovely 18th century French Regence period side table handcrafted in solid French walnut by talented artisans near Lyon. This richly carved French side table features a carved, moulded edge, with an inlaid band above a frieze with a single drawer. The serpentine apron is adorned on all sides with intricately carved foliage and shell motifs, harmoniously placed in the center as well as the knees. Raised on four graceful cabriole legs surmounted by carved acanthus, ending with hoof feet. The wonderful, rich patina and beautiful shape make this antique French table an excellent choice for any home. Although it has a drawer, this table is called a center table because it is finished on all four sides and can float in a room. It could be used as a game table or possibly a tea table in front of a sofa.
