A large and rare early 19th century carved French porte-parapluie or umbrella stand handcrafted in Lyon of solid walnut with a decorative, curved hand wrought iron front featuring a stylized urn and open plumes with scrolls and acanthus leaves, circa early 1800s. Having four compartments and original zinc drip tray, this elegant carved umbrella stand was made for a hotel and is made to stand against a wall. Perfect for a foyer, entry hall, or mud room. Would also be great for storing walking sticks or canes.
