French Louis XVI Style Ebonized Mahogany Enfilade Buffet
Mid-20th century mahogany Louis XVI style three drawer, three door enfilade buffet with a hand applied ebonized semi-gloss lacquered finish, circa 1950s, having a rectangular moulded top with cookie cutter corners supported on curved and fluted stiles, all raised on short, fluted toupie feet ending in brass sabots. The original brass drop bail handles and diamond shaped escutcheons are typical of neoclassical pieces of furniture. The moulded panel doors open to reveal a single shelf and ample storage. A beautiful Parisian enfilade with clean lines that works in modern and traditional decors. Attributed to the highly sought after Paris atelier Maison Jansen, this elegant buffet was found in Paris and is a fine example of the quality workmanship and style of such a highly sought after Paris atelier.
